    Weather Predictions

The sun looks like it wants to come out. Will I be able to go to that car show tonight? Can my kids play their soccer game tomorrow?

All these and more weather questions can be answered with our new 48 hour weather forecast by the HOUR. Thanks to the National Weather Service, we can see ahead what the weather should be.

Check it out on the Forecast page and click on the Hourly Forecast button (have your speakers on also) at the top.

    Nasty Night Of Weather

Our concerns go out to our neighbors in Homer Glen around 159th and Cedar Road. It seems a Microburst went through there and took the roof off of one house. Homer Glen is only a few miles West of us.

Out here we saw 2.07 inches of rain as of 7:34AM. Lots of thunder and lightning during the night but thankfully no damage.

    Prices Falling!!!

A little off topic, but I hope you folks are taking advantage of our Gas Price listings. Look on the left navigation side bar under Local. Seems the prices are continuously going down nicely. Nothing like discussing the local weather and now gas prices also LOL.

    Brrrrrr

Had to close some windows last night. Temperatures dropped quickly after the last storm came through yesterday and then a cool breeze picked up. Temperatures fell to 61F last night ... niceeee!

    Rough Night

Lots of thunder and lightning with a total of 1.382" of rain. At one point the rain rate was better than 3.5" per hour. Slowed down later. This all started around 10PM last night.

    Absolutely Beautiful

Today was just perfect. As I write this the temp is 81F, humidity is 35% with a slight breeze at 5mph. Just came back from our Caribbean Street Party in Town and it was perfect. Hot in the sun, comfortable in the shade. This is what summer is all about. Better enjoy it as the hot and sticky is on its way.

    Web Cam Problems

My apologizes for the web cam videos. Seems they are not working right. Had some problems with the resolution being to high (camera is TOO good :)) and was not uploading to last 24 hour properly. We will have to wait and see if things straighten themselves out. I need 24 hours to see what happens.

    New Weather Cam

I updated the weather cam facing South. After much research and checking out my friends at Weather Watch, I decided on the Logitech 4000. This seems to give the best picture for an inexpensive USB camera. Since it is not made any more (replaced by 5000) I had to buy used from Ebay. Looks like it is working very well.

I am missing some snaps since I also switched software and this one needs some more tweaking. The last 24 hour movies will tell me what I need to know. Hope you enjoy the better camera which seems to show the sky and clouds much clearer.

    Cool Man

Wow, what a difference an evening makes! Cold front moved in yesterday evening, heavy storms again and now we are looking at 65F this morning. Beautiful sleeping weather with the windows open :)

    Water Water Everywhere

Except for here. Seems we got quite a bit of rain. Chicago Midway shows .3" and I heard over 1" in some North and West suburbs, but out here a mere .02" .

    Clouds All Around

The clouds are menacing and radar shows clouds and lightning all around but nothing here!

    First Post HOT!!!

Well I just added this blog feature as kind of a weather diary. Hope it plays well and people appreciate AND comment on it. Temperatures are hovering around 94 degrees Fahrenheit with a heat index of 101.3 F and feels like 110 F!

Just got a Severe Thunderstorm watch as I am typing this. Hope this cools things off.

Party PicOn the bright side, this weekend weather is looking like upper 70' and low 80's as the highs (of course I have learned to add 3 to 5 degrees for our weather here)... ahhhhh! If you would like to enjoy this weather, come on out to Tinley Park on Sunday and enjoy their Caribbean Street Party. Food, fun and drink, it is always a good time, but more so when the weather is nicer. More details here: Party
